Industrial designers are the people who develop and create new products. The Pen and Pencil
Industrial designers have used pen and pencil for centuries, and they’re still widely used today. They’re the primary tools of a design team’s sketching phase—the first stage of the design process, where you explore a variety of ideas to find the best concept for your product.
The pen (or stylus) is used to quickly sketch out your concepts on paper or in digital form using CAD software; this allows you to get feedback from others on your ideas quickly. Once you’ve chosen one idea, use your pencil to refine that concept into something tighter and more refined before creating a prototype or building it in 3D software.
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software
Computer-aided design (CAD) software or other industrial design software is used to create 3D models, 2D drawings, animation and interactive simulations.
